History of our School

Cambridge Nursery School has been part of the Bootle community since 1974, warmly welcoming little learners for nearly 50 years. Originally set up as one of Sefton’s maintained nursery schools, we now provide dedicated spaces for 2‑, 3‑ and 4‑year‑olds, with around 80 places in our 3–4 room and 40 in our 2–3 room.

Over the decades, we’ve proudly grown into a nurturing place where children can explore confidently, guided by qualified teachers, nursery nurses and childcare assistants.

We pride ourselves on our large indoor and outdoor learning spaces — places where children’s curiosity blossoms, and they become both independent and kind.

Importantly, Cambridge Nursery is more than just a school — it's a community. We welcome families from all backgrounds, celebrating different cultures and traditions so children learn early on to appreciate diversity.

Every term after a child’s 2nd or 3rd birthday, they are eligible for free nursery education — either five morning or five afternoon sessions — and we also offer a limited number of 30‑hour places for eligible 2, 3 & 4 year olds.

If you'd like to be part of the Cambridge Nursery School family, get in touch. We can't wait to meet you!
