Assessment
When your child starts school, we carry out a baseline assessment within the first three weeks to see what they can do and how best to support them. We then complete termly assessments to track progress and plan the next steps in their learning. For children with SEND, we use the Sefton Small Steps document to set individual, child-centered targets, which are displayed in class so everyone can see and support their learning journey. We believe that strong relationships with families are key to helping children thrive, and we work closely with you so that home and school can support your child together.
At our school we know that learning is best when parents and families work with teachers. When we work together we can understand each child better, celebrate what they do well and help them with anything that is tricky. Our motto is enhancing the lives of our children and families and we try to do this every day. By working with families we make a happy community where every child can grow and every family feels cared for and supported.
